- We are open to your ideas, so please talk to us. Whether a small intimate cosy winter wedding in the house by open log fires or a summer marquee event for 200 guests, we can accommodate pretty much anything. The beautiful ornate Yellow Room is licensed for civial ceremonies, but if you would rather your ceremony take place on the lawn, you only have to say. Alternatively, you could get married at any of the 6 local churches, all of which have been popular with our couples and start your reception with drinks on the lawn and in the house before moving to the marquee on the back lawn for the wedding breakfast and party. Our on site accommodation for up to 10 in the private guest house accommodation and the luxury Bridal Suite is always a winner with couples and their friends and families as it makes for a long weekend together.

Location & Contact Details
Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
The day it rained heavily from morning til night and the couple totally embraced it, even sitting by the campfire with their friends until the wee hours, totally soaking wet, but laughing and having the best time.
What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you use the on site accommodation, where possible, for the most helpful people among your friends/family as there is always a lot more to do than you anticipate and give both myself and the front of house as much information as possible on both of our check lists. Communication is everything!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I loved the labrador with the GoPro camera on his collar. The Skype session during the ceremony with an absent Mother of the bride was very touching. The father of the bride's ceilidh band was also a lovely thing as he played a full set at his own daughter's wedding!
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Secluded, bespoke, private, rural, authentic
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The formal gardens, the Rose Garden, the Wild Flower Meadow are all lovely, but there is also 100 acres of estate that offer so many lovely old buildings and walls, ponds and sequoia trees.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Not yet! Unless the village GP's daughter counts .....
What’s your favourite canapé?
Kitchen of Kent offer such a wide variety that it's difficult to say .... they are all equally stunnig to look at. www.kitchenofkent.co.uk
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
to have a nice warm pre-booked cab or minibus waiting outside the house to take weary bodies home
What is your venue's most unique feature?
It has to be the location. There is only one house in the 100 acre National Trust estate surrounding the house, so the house feels very private and secluded.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The fact that we only offer 12 weekend long weddings per year which means couples and their guests can truly relax and enjoy the set up and enjoy being with each other for the whole weekend.
