Established in 1891 with a clear social and cultural purpose, St Bride Foundation is one of London’s hidden gems.
Housed in a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian building, St Bride Foundation was originally set up to serve the burgeoning print and publishing trade of nearby Fleet Street, and is now finding a new contemporary audience of designers, printmakers and typographers who come to enjoy a regular programme of design events and workshops.
St Bride retains many of its original features, including the baths, laundry, printing rooms and library. As part of the Foundation’s original mission to provide for the community, many of the building’s unique and characterful spaces are available to hire whether for meetings, weddings or classes. Steeped in tradition and history, St Bride Foundation has long been a venue catering for the needs of local people and for local charities. With rooms ranging from comfortable meeting spaces to the opulent Salisbury Room and the elegant Bridewell Hall, there is a space to suit every need.
We also have our very own theatre, built over the City of London's first swimming pools, which can be booked for events, while we also host live music and networking groups in our Theatre Bar, on the site of the Institute's old laundry. We endeavour to be as flexible as we can, so please put yourself in contact to discover how we can host your wedding.
