Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

There is no where more special that Abbotsford in the sunshine. One of our lovely couples were lucky enough to bring the weather with them and marry amidst our beautiful tulip festival. There relaxed and informal day really suited the couple and allowed them to feel like they were getting married in their own home.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't panic! Yes, there are many things to think about but everything comes together in the end.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A wedding of a keen fisherman and golfer, they subtly added their hobbies to their wedding. From canapes served with golf balls, to cheese served on a small wooden boat they captured their personalities in their food and decoration.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Our beautifully manicured gardens proven popular with couples, however, if you are looking for something a little different, we have opened up our woodlands with breathtaking views over the river tweed

What’s your favourite canapé?

All of our canapes are outstanding but my personal favorite has to be Roast beef and caramelised onion choux buns

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Once the sun has set on your perfect day, couples love to cozy up next to the roaring fire in our luxury Hope Scott Wing accommodation and have a lovely moment to themselves.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Completed in 1824 and, to many, the most iconic room at Abbotsford, Scott’s magnificent library borrows elements from Rosslyn Chapel and adds the author’s flair for the unique to create a truly memorable space for your wedding photos. You will exchange your vows in this edifice to the written word, which is home to Scott’s personal collection of over 7,000 volumes, and has stunning views over the River Tweed.
