Overall, we had a great day - the venue is BEAUTIFUL, but I felt that the organisation by the venue on the day was not as good as it should have been. I (the bride) left the room during our wedding breakfast to go to the loo - when I returned, the bubbly had been served ready for speeches, but a glass had not been left for me. As a result, I ended up without bubbly during the speeches at my own wedding.
During the evening reception, the gluten free cake was placed on the same plate as the normal cake, despite the venue being told repeatedly about the gluten free cake needing to be kept separate. My own mother ended up having to go into the kitchen at her daughter's wedding to sort this problem out and make sure there was still some gluten free cake which could be served.
We were also told repeatedly during planning that there would be a gluten free option for the evening, including gluten free rolls (our evening food was sausage and bacon baps with chips). It turned out on the evening that the gluten free option was bacon with no rolls.
Other than those few oversights, we had a lovely day, and the barn is beautiful.
