Located in the Market Place, it was originally built as a market hall in 1574 by the people of the town and the nearby parishes.
The ground floor with its timber arcades and octagonal columns bulging out at the bottom has been used by market traders for more than 500 years.
Now couples looking for something a little special and niche for their wedding day, can become a part of this historic building’s history.
The Guildhall is now a licenced venue for civil marriages and partnerships to take place in the Council Chamber, providing a historic backdrop steeped in history for your special day.
The room can accommodate up to 50 guests, including the wedding couple, and we can supply a list of local wedding hire suppliers and florists whose services can further enhance the decor of this very unique venue.
The Guildhall is situated in the town centre of Faversham in a semi pedestrianised area, with the Council Chamber situated up a short flight of stairs on the first floor. Facilities include:
Separate room for couple to meet the Registrar
