We are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are not currently taking any new bookings for 2021 until we have rescheduled our postponed 2020 weddings. Our staffing levels are currently low and replies to enquiries may be delayed. Our beautiful refurbished barn will comfortably seat 110 people for a wedding or family celebration. All profit from each event stays within the Kirklees area, and helps fund work with families to improve the mental health and emotional well-being of young people.

The most amazing day!
We got married at Northorpe Barn on Nov 2nd (2019) and we had the most amazing day! The venue itself is stunning, bright, romantic and warm, and we were able to dress the venue for the day exactly as we wanted. Brittany is a fantastic coordinator - along the way (all 12+ months) she was always available, super friendly, personable and was thankfully able to offer advice and suggestions and never pushed. She makes the process feel so easy and has every tiny detail under control. Her team were seamless on the day and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious and the drinks were constantly flowing. We couldn’t have had a better day or picked a more perfect venue, and we’re so thankful we chose Northorpe Hall! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕 x x x

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Each of our weddings are different and that is what makes us so unique. We have a beautiful simple barn, and outdoor space, and you can dress and decorate it to suit your taste. We love the weddings where the wedding couple and guests, have an initial 'wow' moment, then relax into the venue and the day and treat it as their own.....

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't forget to relax and enjoy your day! - by the wedding day, all your hard work will be done and so worth it, and you can rely on your wedding coordinator and the team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

It's so hard to say, all of our weddings are different. We have had everything from a Harry potter themed wedding to a carnival wedding with fairground rides in our courtyard and lots of colours in the barn. We have loved every single one! - we especially love the weddings where ceremony guests are invited to sit where they like as they are loved equally by the couple, that makes the guests feel really special.

The front of our Hall is perfect for those big group photos.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We couldn't say - we like to be discreet!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Tiny toad in the holes - Mini Yorkshire puddings with sausage and gravy.. yum!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Oh, by midnight our guests are on their way home, and our venue is just going dark and quiet and relaxing after a busy day. Our favourite 10pm treat might be a slice of our fabulous Pork Pie or Cheese Celebration cakes with a little dip of pickle!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our sixteenth century barn is an amazing space full of original wooden beams and stone walls.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

All profits from our weddings and events are donated to the charity, helping to fund our work improving the mental health and emotional well-being of Kirklees young people.
