Full Description
Built well over a century ago, the Rhynd has been owned by the Foster family since the early 1950s, and up until the late 1990s the space was a working farm. The event space was a cattle shed and has been lovingly restored keeping all the unique features in place, creating a truly romantic rustic barn feel. Access to the venue is from Thursday through to Sunday, or Monday to Wednesday - we don't want you to feel rushed! All heating and lighting is included for the day and you are free to choose whichever suppliers you love the most! The venue can hold up to 180 seated and up to 230 for your evening. We also have a Farmhouse onsite that can sleep up to 10 people, the venue is situated just 15 minutes from St Andrews and Dundee. With ever changing fields in crop, Tentsmuir forest and Kinshaldy beach only 5minutes away there are plenty of photo opportunities!

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Lisa Monteith
I truly believe that all weddings should be unique to each couple, the beauty of The Rhynd, is that it's a blank canvas venue that allows you to choose your own suppliers! Giving you the ultimate freedom to make the venue your own. With 3 - 4 day access you have time to enjoy the whole process of setting up, you have that space to do all decorating yourself or to relax and let someone else lend a helping hand!

We loved how relaxed & professional everything was
Dear Lisa, We just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help towards our wedding. You have been absolutely brilliant to work with and we absolutely loved how relaxed but professional everything was. We knew as soon as we visited (our 1st ever too!) that we would get married at The Rhynd, and we are so happy that we did. It was such a brilliant venue and the relaxed charm of it is carried right through to the team. It's such a special place and we're excited that we can now come back and stay the farmhouse. Love Lucy and Al

The ceremony was a beautiful and sentimental
The ceremony was a beautiful and sentimental service with lots of happy tears in the main hall of the Rhynd farm, and the reception was held at the same place, and it was a bohemian style wedding. They had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and an Italian pasta truck in the evening, and they finished off the night with a ceilidh dances.

The Rhynd which is a beautiful venue
Well it was our last wedding of the year and one of our favourites for sure! We sure have ended 2018 in style. It’s not hard to take good images when your subjects are this god damn gorgeous, inside and out! A lot of firsts in this wedding. Our first time at The Rhynd which is a beautiful venue, we’re dying to go back already.

The venue is beautifully lit in autumn/winter
The Rhynd is a beautiful barn venue just outside Leuchars. The owners Ed and Natasha got married there themselves and when we went to view the venue, Ed showed us round and told us all about his day and how the space could be used. The space is not as big as other barn venues in Fife but this was a key reason we loved it as it was cosy without being cramped or colossal and had clearly defined spaces for different parts of the day. The venue is very much DIY, but the team as well as our suppliers were very quick to help with suggestions and made the whole process very easy. The venue is beautifully lit in autumn/winter with fairy lights and candles but I’ve also seen it in pictures from summer weddings and with the large outdoor space, it works really well.

we both felt we’d found our venue.
We narrowed our search down by picking the date – July when the rugby season was off – and type of venue (barns in Fife). The minute we saw The Rhynd in Leuchars online we both felt we’d found our venue. Including tartans from our family clans was important, we are both really proud of where we come from. We also used a lot of greenery from Gregor’s family’s garden in the Borders. Special mention has to go to the umbrella installation that Gregor’s brother Callum made. He hung three umbrellas from the rafters and had fairylights cascading down like rain. Our guests loved it for a photo!

it is exciting to find a new DIY wedding venue
I was genuinely excited when Lynsey and Gregor booked me for their wedding at the Rhynd. As a wedding Photographer in Fife, it is exciting to find a new DIY wedding venue, especially one in a beautiful setting close to where I grew up.... I wasn't disappointed!
