Happy couple married in May

Myself and my partner, James, recently had the absolute pleasure of enjoying our wedding weekend at the Rosevine and it is an understatement to say that they (Becca, especially) went above and beyond to make sure it was the most incredible time of our lives. Scott's enthusiasm and openness surrounding the menus was infectious. The options Scott presented to us far exceeded any previous menu options that we had been given from the Rosevine and other venues. The time that Scott spent with us in making sure the meals were to our exact specifications showcased what a diligent, creative and considerate chef he is. One of our guests was a chef at a high-end restaurant in Cornwall and they could not praise Scott's cooking enough. We appreciate the challenge that the menu created for Scott in terms of technicality and time pressures, all of which he excelled with and more. There were a wide range of dietary requirements and severe allergies to contend with as well, and Scott managed these with ease and we were fully assured that he had taken every effort to remove any risk. He is an incredible asset to the team and we cannot wait to return for many future dinners. While we predominantly dealt with Becca and Scott, it is also important to note other staff members, such as Narita, Lewis, Emily, Nigel and the lovely South African couple who did the BBQ for us on the Friday night. They each stood out for different reasons, but a constant from all of them was their friendly, polite and respectful manner. This provided all guests with a feeling of homeliness and camaraderie, which is not often found in hotel venues and would be hard to come by. To put it simply, Becca is someone who we will never forget. Her communication with us since our original meeting was nothing short of exemplary, and we will forever appreciate the amount of time she put in inside and outside of her working hours to accommodate us. Becca is such an integral part of the Rosevine and her planning, organising and delivery of the entire event was second to none. Becca is worth her weight in gold and we hope to see her for years to come when we visit the Rosevine for future anniversaries. Our wedding would not have been the same if not for her tenacity, quick-wit and complete dedication. If you choose to book with the Rosevine, your wedding could not be in safer hands.

A perfect weekend
My husband and I got married at the Rosevine Hotel in Truro on the weekend of the 1st of October 22. We booked our wedding the previous year and the hotel was going through some staff changes. Originally we were looking at a slightly smaller wedding we would have used the hotel for the wedding breakfast however as our numbers grew slightly it meant we needed to add two tipis that would be erected on the lawn. The hotel had a change in management prior to our wedding and this totally transformed our experience. The new management team Karla and De Reuck are absolutely amazing so professional and clearly very experienced in hotel management and running events. From the moment we met them we knew we were in very capable hands. We had regular meetings and none of our requests were ever too much trouble. The team supporting were also exceptional. All our guests arrived on Friday where their rooms were allocated. The rooms are really beautiful and have everything needed for a perfect getaway, little touches like handwritten welcome cards, local fudge and sleep aid sets were all included. The rooms also have fridges with milk tea and coffee etc. We arranged to have a BBQ on Friday evening, we had it in the tipi as the weather was not good. It was great to have the evening before the wedding so the guest could mingle and get to know each other. Breakfast hampers were delivered to guest rooms on the wedding morning. The day itself wAs absolutely perfect, the weather changed and the team did everything to assist with us having the wedding outside which was amazing as we thought it may not be possible. There was always going to be a cut off time and the team left it till the last minute to facilitate us having the wedding outside. There was an issue with our arch it fell over and broke slightly just before the ceremony again no problem it was fixed straight away. The ceremony went without issue canapés we’re served along with processo. I had a very concrete idea of how I wanted the tables to look and my bridesmaid showed this to Becca the wedding coordinator and they were all set up perfectly. The rest of the day ran like clockwork as the wedding breakfast was perfect and people would be full we opted for a wedding cake of cheese and pork pies with pasties and port in the evening. The next morning breakfast was served in the restaurant. Overall it was a truely magical weekend perfect from start to finish Thankyou Rosevine team. Anyone unsure about this venue I would say don’t be just book it you won’t regret it!

More than we could have ever imagined
Where do we start, we got married at the Rosevine back in September and honestly it really was better than we could have imagined. All the staff went above and beyond to make our weekend incredible, they never said no to any of my unusual requests, they just worked with us throughout. We wanted a casual wedding weekend but with that luxurious feeling and that is exactly what we got. Exceptional food throughout the weekend from the bbq on the Friday night, wedding breakfast canapés and hampers sent to the room. We fell in love with the venue and all our guests did too, they completely understood why we chose a wedding venue 5 hours from our home town. If you are looking for a wedding venue that can offer you and each individual guest EVERYTHING you have found it! Even the dogs! Well done Rosevine team you are all absolutely lovely and smashing it.

A Dream Wedding!
We're now home, following the best week of our lives. We wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to you for helping us have our perfect day. Also to the rest of the team at the Rosevine. They were amazing, from beginning to end, not only on the day, but the 5 days we were with you. The little touches like the card and fudge in every room, to the big things like the incredible food and coordination on the day. You were so patient and understanding with us when the weather threw our plans out the window! Our friends and family were blown away by the place and didn't want to leave. I've included a few photos that I thought you might like to see. The Rosevine really was the perfect setting, beautiful building and gardens, the photos don't do it justice. Thank you all again, we can't wait to come and back and stay again soon.

Describe the best wedding that happened at The Rosevine Hotel?

It's hard to describe just one wedding - we're so lucky to count so many beautiful weddings as part of the Rosevine year. It's lovely to see the house taken over and used as it should be; welcoming families and children enjoying the freedom to roam the house and grounds, the couples decorating the house with personal touches like family photos on the dressers, and having everyone at the house for the entire weekend. Beach games and a barbecue or a trip to the local pub on the night before, the excitement building whilst getting ready with breakfast boxes delivered to the apartments on the morning of the wedding, seeing the team decorate, beauticians and hairdressers, arriving, the scent of fresh flowers, photographers snapping away and seeing the months of preparation coming together when the wedding takes place either at the house or at the local church, then the party commences! Sundays are for full Cornish breakfasts and a swim in the pool (or in the sea!) to clear heads before fond farewells.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Use a colour coded master plan behind the scenes to help you keep track of your guests’ requirements – working with your venue to let them know not only where everyone is sitting but whether they have special dietary requirements or child's portions. Pretty table plans are for front of house only – this is military!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One idea we’ve liked is Polaroid style place cards. The slightly washed out polaroid look is very retro – very now. And it's a very personal way of recognising your family and friends - seeing them take their seats and their reactions to the photos is always great fun!
