Describe the best wedding that happened at Tuffon Hall?

Laura & Kerry were originally a May couple but Covid had other ideas. They chose to postpone until December and redream their big day as a beautiful winter wedding. Then they had teh blow that they would only be allowed a maximum of 15 people, so we worked with them to create a fantastic two day affair allowing them to double their numbers and enjoy the more traditional wedding breakfast with family on the Saturday and a boozy roast with friends on the Sunday. It was intimate, informal, beautiful and special for so many reasons. We are so pleased we got to see them tie the knot after months of worry and that they had, by theior own admission, a better wedding than they could have every imagined.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Stick to the budget. It is so important to keep your eyes on the prize and the importance of the day should never be overshadowed by the planning. We love to help couples achieve their dream days, no matter how big or small and how much they wish to plan for themselves or hand over to us, and it is important to us to work with our couples to stay on track with finances, sourcing suppliers and creating ideas that allow them to start married life on the right footing.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One of our lovely brides had her wedding cake displayed inside a vintage wardrobe which was such a showstopper! It was such a brilliant cake, with the couple made from icing, sat on top and dressed in their wedding day outfits with their 4 cats by their side!

Describe Tuffon Hall in 5 adjectives

Friendly, trendy, boho, personal, stunning

Where’s the best photo spot at Tuffon Hall?

You can't beat the view out across the vines and towards the North Essex countryside beyond just as the sun is setting. Our couples also love the juxtaposition of the historic flint walls of the Cellar Door abutting the corrugated ironwork of our Atcost barn next door. There are many other fabulous photo spots, and perhaps some yet to be discovered by you.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Tuffon Hall?

Ferne McCann filmed episode 1 of her new series 'First Time Mum' at Tuffon Hall Vineyard, where she came for a tour of the vineyard and a private wine tasting with her family.

What’s your favourite canapé?

We love a seasonal canapé using the finest local, sustainable produce. Our favourites are Mini Buttermilk Pheasant Sliders with Smoked Cheddar and Onion Jam, Roast Squash Arancini with Cornish Blue Cheese Sauce and our very own Tuffon Hall Sloe Gin Cured Salmon on Toasted Brioche

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

You can't beat a slice of wood-fired, stone-baked pizzas from our recommended street food truck as you enjoy your final orders ahead of retiring to the farmhouse for a sloe gin nightcap.

What is Tuffon Hall most unique feature?

Our couples fall in love with our heritage meets modern look, with our stunning festoon lighting hanging from the magnificent rafters within the Cellar Door

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The team at Tuffon Hall is small and we operate like a close family, which means each and every event is personal to us and a joy to see playing out. We are proud of how closely we work and how our couples become a part of our family in the process. We are often complimented on our personal and friendly approach which makes us very proud.
