We loved Safari Lodge straight away. The optional extras such as swan boats, train ride, meeting animals etc appealed to us.
The venue itself is spacious with options to use dividers. We had the room divided until after dinner, which meant the DJ could set up during our meal without any disruption to us. After, with the whole space opened up it was ideal for seating and quieter areas so people could chat whilst still having the disco in full swing.
The veranda is simply fantastic, and was perfect for after dinner ice creams, watching the swan boats and the sunset. We decorated it with hundreds of fairy lights. There’s plenty of seating and still space for garden games like giant jenga.
The staff on the day were so friendly and professional. The hog roast was just perfect for a summer wedding, and ready on time.
Everything was looked after promptly and set up/ dismantled with care. The venue were very accommodating with dropping off items and collection after.
Although the safari park was open until 6pm, we barely noticed anyone else. After 6pm we had the place to ourselves and we really loved the swan boats. Excellent photos. The kids thought the swan boats were the best thing ever- two of the small kids went to another wedding over a year later and told the bride it would be better if they had swan boats too! Out the mouths of babes...
The venue staff on the night were outstanding. Even when things went wrong- taxis the bar staff ordered were taking over an hour to turn up or not arriving at all, they did their very best to sort it out.
Safari Lodge as a remote venue need a reliable taxi firm-we really hope they’ve sorted this issue out as then it would be 5 stars. Don’t let this put you off, just be aware.
We had a fantastic reception here; overall safari lodge was an excellent venue with good food and reasonable rates, offering something a little different.
