What is your most memorable wedding?
One wedding that stands out for us is the wedding of Rob & Rebecca in the Peak District. It was our first "destination wedding" (hey, Sheffield can be foreign and exotic lol) and it really left a lasting impression on us. It took place over two historic and beautiful locations with lots of outdoor space, meaning we got lots of amazing drone footage! Plus they had a surprise Abba-Waterloo flashmob by their guests - it was so lovely to see the couple being surprised! you can view the wedding here: https://vimeo.com/305562826
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classic, cinematic, stylish, fun & personal
What about your business are you most proud of?
We're proud of how much couples love their wedding videos in the end, because we strive to make it that way. We communicate with couples and spend time getting to know them and what's special to them, and always ask for feedback. Which in turn ends up in us creating films that they are so proud to share and treasure forever.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't organise too much for the two of you to do on your wedding day. It's very easy to assign yourself jobs (coordinate the ceremony music on your phone etc.) but if you can get someone else to do it, no matter how small, then we would advise do it! The stress we've seen all these odd jobs cause couples is very real! Just make sure all the two of you have to do is turn up and get married, that's more than enough!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love seeing boards with wedding photos from different generations of the couple's families. Or when cute dogs are involved in anyway. Or when the couple choose a really obscure first dance song simply because it's so special to just the two of them.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After enquiring online, we like to engage with couples either over the phone or face-to-face, so they can see what kind of people we are. It's really important to fit in with a wedding party, to 1. blend in to the background and 2. make others feel comfortable around the camera. This also gives couples an opportunity to ask any questions they might have. We require a £200 deposit to book your date, and we then get in touch 2-4 weeks prior to your wedding for a catch up and to request the details of your day. We are available anytime you'd like to chat to us in between, and regular catch ups for coffee/a pint are more than alright with us.
What is the most exciting thing you have caught on camera?
We filmed a surprise wedding for our friends Kate & Greig at The Bothy, in Glasgow. All the guests thought they were attending an engagement party but actually the couple were upstairs in their white dress and suit with a minister waiting to surprise them! It was an exciting occasion but also extremely emotional, I teared up every time I edited it! You can view the video here: https://vimeo.com/306052240
What is the one film you wish you had directed and why?
For me it has to be my all time favourite film Call Me by Your Name. The relationship between the two lead actors, as well as the stunning and romantic location of Northern Italy in summer would make it a dream Director's job! For Kieran, it would be Star Wars, but then again, the films would not be the classics they are today if he directed it instead of George Lucas so...
What is your favourite soundtrack to put to a wedding video?
Something dynamic, i.e. with lots of changes in pace throughout. We like to use contemporary music, that creates atmosphere and stirs different emotions.
Describe how you got into videography.
It all started with Kieran and food photography. A job came along to try out video for a regular client of his and he never looked back from there. With a background in IT, he loves the technical side of videography and watches Youtube endlessly to keep up to date with the latest equipment and techniques.
