What is your most memorable wedding?
I pretty much remember most of our weddings because we spend a day filming and then several days editing and watching the final film to get it perfect. I suppose I could say the football stars and TV stars' weddings we've filmed and yes I remember them but not more than others to be honest ...
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Cinematic. Watchable. Flexible. Relaxed. Professional.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Love that couples keep in touch and tell us about significant events in their lives and of course especially love it when they tell us how often they watch their films and still love them!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Stop planning, trust the professionals you've hired and enjoy your day!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Oh no! How to choose one? Loving the vintage ideas at the moment but really look forward to seeing how every wedding is styled.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once we've worked out the best package to suit a couple then we like to have a meeting 2 months before the wedding - in person or by phone if they're super busy) and as we provide a detailed questionnaire we like to go through all the details of their day together and talk about what (and who) is important to the couple so we capture everything they care about and have planned. The more details we have the more we can be in the background on the day. We then storyboard the day so we know who in the team is doing what and when. After we've finished filming on the day we take our leave of the couple and check that there isn't anything else they need before we leave. We type up the film credits document so they can check it before we use it in their film and we use music they provide. Highlights and Marryoke are uploaded to YouTube for the couple to approve before releasing for friends and family (optional). The edited film is checked and then sent to the couple by post.
What is the most exciting thing you have caught on camera?
So much love between couples and families. Surprisingly one that stands out was a loving hug and kiss between a bride's grandparents. Made me cry!
What is the one film you wish you had directed and why?
Pride & Prejudice ... to ask for re-takes of Colin Firth as Mr Darcy emerging from the lake haha!
What is your favourite soundtrack to put to a wedding video?
A difficult one because we love the variety of choice provided by clients and using the same track could get pretty boring after a while!
Describe how you got into videography.
We filmed a family wedding and were then asked to do others for couples who'd seen it so we got training in America and the rest is history!
