What about your business are you most proud of?
My passion for my work!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE A GOOD WEDDING. I have even been known to stay hours after my filming is done to have a drink with the guests. I just really enjoy my job! It's what makes me so different from everyone else because I put so much LOVE into every wedding film, from the first moment of filming through to editing your dream wedding film.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
JUST RELAX and enjoy yourself! Leave the worrying to the professionals. Everything will go perfectly smoothly on your wedding day, I promise!!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Anything with a personal touch at a Wedding can be beautiful. I especially love it when Couples create their own personal Vows. Afterall, if it is your wedding, MAKE IT YOURS! Don't be afraid to ask me if you want something different. I want to make your wedding film unique to you!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Initially we can provide a free no obligation consultation to go through the details of the day. On the Wedding Day, I will dress to impress, I want to blend in with your wedding party, getting natural shots as they happen. I usually don't pose people, I like natural shots. I will be in the background, leaving the couple to enjoy themselves. I mean, no-one likes a camera being shoved in their face all day! I will start my day a couple of hours early, and get shots of the venue. Then I will get shots of the Bridal Prep and the Groom getting ready for their big day. Moving onto the Wedding Day, I will film the full ceremony and speeches (included in my packages). From then, I will get natural shots of the day, as they happen, and film up to the first dance, or later if you wanted.
What is the one film you wish you had directed and why?
Jaws! it's a classic!
What is your favourite soundtrack to put to a wedding video?
There are so many! But Wedding Videographers must only use licenced music. We cannot just add your favourite Ed Sheeran tracks to your film. I use a huge database of music from a Website called Musicbed.
Describe how you got into videography.
I have been involved in Videography for over a decade, starting as a hobby. In Greece (Lindos) on holiday one year at a friend's Wedding (which was amazing), I saw a Videographer filming the wedding, and it was a real lightbulb on the head moment. I wanted to do it myself. I love Weddings and I love Videography so why not combine the two?! So I set up Richard Blake Wedding Films.
